My Work For You

Foreign language documents and translations

I have to be sure that you understand the documents that you are signing and their effect, as well as the fact that you intend to do what the documents provide for. To be able to check this I need to have at least a basic understanding of the documents myself. For both of these reasons, if imagethe documents are principally in a foreign language I may need to obtain a translation and/or ask you to get advice from the lawyer or organisation who sent you the documents from abroad.

Authenticating facts with third parties

Part of a Notary’s role is to check and obtain independent evidence of the facts presented to him and which appear in the documents which he notarises for his clients. This sometimes involves obtaining evidence or proof from sources independent of the client. I will need your full cooperation to enable me to complete this.

In some cases (particularly for companies or organisations established overseas) we may ask you to produce certain documents. These might include a certificate of incorporation, good standing certificate and other similar evidence. If these cannot be satisfactorily produced I may have to seek the assistance of overseas agents.
